New Day marks the beginning of a new creative era for LEMI, a three-track journey rooted in the landscapes of Kilifi and shaped within the creative ecosystem of Baobab Studios, featuring collaborations with Zippie Nyumu, Fadhilee and June on the Moon.

Built on the foundations of 3-Step but unwilling to stay inside any one rulebook, New Day captures the sound of an artist entering a new phase — personally and sonically. After a period away from releasing music since 2023, LEMI returned to the studio with a clear intention: not to simply release music, but to create something honest,patient and deeply connected to the place.

Created between long days and late nights at Baobab Studios, the project draws heavily from the energy surrounding the studio — collaborative, free-flowing and impossible to box in. Inspired equally by the movement of 3-Step and the slower rhythm of life on the Kenyan coast, the EP was imagined as music for both the dancefloor and the creek sunsets of Kilifi.
