Alphie Bridgett Emmanuel, known artistically as June on the Moon, is a jazz and neo-soul singer, songwriter, and guitarist with Kenyan and Caribbean roots. Her journey has carved a unique space within alternative, soulful, and healing music. June expresses her artistry through songwriting, composition, and sound design.
As a live performer, June has spent the past two years touring, performing, and collaborating across various cities: Accra, Mombasa, Lamu, Kilifi, and Dar es Salaam. She is currently based in Nairobi.
June’s music pays homage to the artists who came before her, especially within jazz, hip-hop, and classical genres. Influences like Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Amy Winehouse, Sarah Vaughan, and Astrud Gilberto have greatly shaped her musical style.
